Welcome to Tix Creates I am so glad you are here. I am a new digital marketer that knows and believes that if you have the drive and knowledge to get started in digital marketing you can change your life and build a thriving career.
A little introduction
“ I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and have loved the idea of running my own business - and calling the shots! All whilst spending as much time with the cutest human on the planet!”
I recently became a new mother giving birth in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, which was a nightmare! Everything that my friends/family said to me about pregnancy and post-pregnancy was thrown out the window. I tried to navigate giving birth at home (because going to the hospital terrifies me and they always smell weird) and raising a little human without being able to cry/sleep on my friend’s shoulders. Shout out to all the ‘pandemic parents’ we dealt with some sh**, literally and theoretically.
“As most mums know every second away from our babies has to be spent wisely, and I didn’t want to hate my job knowing that I would rather be spending time with my baby.”
But, the silver lining was being made redundant after my maternity leave finished. Yes, I know it doesn’t sound like a silver lining but it gave me the time and headspace to really engulf myself in connecting with my mini-me and focusing on what I really want in life. As most mums know every second away from our babies has to be spent wisely, and I didn’t want to hate my job knowing that I would rather be spending time with my baby.
Fresh Start
So, I made the decision to start a career in digital marketing a job that genuinely excites me and means that I get a better mom/work balance which even in 2022 is still hard to find. I was lucky enough to get selected for a 10-week Digital Marketing School course and although feeling like the biggest imposter in the room decided to run with it.
This blog is a public diary of my experience navigating my (fingers crossed) new career path and what I’ve learnt. Hopefully, if you’re a mom looking to start your own business, change career, move into the digital marketing world or just hear some random talk sh** about their parenting struggles you’re in the right place.
